Plunkthumping

posted Sunday, 3 July 2005
If you've been reading my blog you've probably noticed that I've been playing a lot of banjo. I've been learning from dvd lessons and help from The Banjo Hangout. I found a great site called Plunkthumping that has FREE virtual banjo lessons. The site is from the author of The How and the Tao of Old Time Banjo. So far I've only worked on Scruggs style bluegrass banjo but this site teaches frailing. Coincidentally today I got a dvd by George Grove of The Kingston Trio. He teaches nine classic folk songs of The Kingston Trio and uses a style he calls 'fake frailing'. If you are interested in the banjo I recommend checking this out.
