Thanks to an a
rticle in the local paper we had a great turn-out at the Keystone Library Chess Club. A bunch of adults came and some new kids showed up. One lady came from Elyria and had always wanted to learn. I gave her a lesson and overview of the game. Then I gave her a list of books to read. She said she had to buy a chess set so I just gave her the one we were using. I have a bunch.
I was surprised to see a man from one of the factories that I deliver to. He played great chess and I had to keep on my toes. He is a little rusty but once he's up to speed there are going to be some good games.
It was the best meeting so far and I'm thinking a tournament might be the way to go soon.
Meetings are the second Saturday of the month from 10:30 to 12:30 at the Keystone Library in LaGrange. Hope to see you there.
