Change is coming
My blog hosting service, Blog-City, is changing the format of my site on me. I won't get too technical but when I started this site I used something called Portlets to create the look for the site. A few months ago they changed over to Widgets. Widgets allow more control over the way a site looks. Up until now I was allowed to stay on with Portlets and I"ve been happy.
Unfortunately I don't have much time to learn the new system. I've been told that they are going to switch everyone over to Widgets soon and when they do my site will look nothing like it has and I'll have to spend some serious time learning the new system. I sent an email to Blog-City letting them know how frustrated I was and part of the reply I got was, "If you want a flat and lifeless website there are thousands of sites out there to accomodate you, we're in the business of blogging and all the expectations that go with that. I invite you to join this new and improved evolution." I never considered my site to be flat and lifeless but I guess it is.
1. My only real options are to learn the new system
2. Move my site over to another host.
3. Learn Movable Type and host my blog on my own site.
The problem is none of these options work. I have no time but I'll try to learn the new system and if I can't get it to look okay I'll just take the site offline until I can find the right answer.
If anyone has any advice let me know.
